These Days is an exhibition with photographer Marica Innocente. The exhibition will bring together photography and body art which deals with trauma and masturbation. The dummy book (These Days) will provide the exhibitions photographs.
The exhibition will present a voyeuristic perspective on feminist issues in art making including the female gaze and psychology of sadomasochistic subculture.
Innocente is an active open member of the queer porn and BDSM community, she explores her own personal and interpersonal relationships with feminism through her distinct connection with this subculture. Innocente’s work also examines themes of liquid sexuality, sex work, performance (art) and pornoterrorism. Pornography being a patriarchal culture, Innocente brings a broken aesthetic to the fantasy of visceral beauty. Her photography is a subversive fetishistic language which expresses individuality as well as intimate insights with sex, sexuality and trauma.
The exhibitions underlying aim is to explore how feminism has aided the progression and understanding of women’s rights and opportunities in the arts during the past twenty years. This leading to investigation into how female identity as well as body image has become vocal and politicised in our hyper sexualised society via social media and print...
We are offering photographers a cost-effective solution to publishing their photobooks and publishing projects.
